1. Gear grinding

1.1 Profile grinding and generating grinding

With EKW grinding wheels, metal removal Volume can be as high as Q'w 5. Sintered corundum grinding wheels (ceramic wheels) can achieve a Q'w of 4-15. The figures quoted depend on the gears to be ground.

Burka-Kosmos gear grinding wheels are used across the world in Gleason - Pfauter, Höfler, Niles, Oerlikon - Maag-Opal and Sigma-Opal machines.



1.2 Continuous grinding

Our delivery programme includes both conventional corundum and fused corundum ceramic grinding wheels.

The quality of Burka-Kosmos GmbH fused corundum grinding wheels means they are capable of meeting most metal removal and surface quality requirements.

Conventional corundum and sintered corundum grinding wheels (ceramic wheels) are suitable for use on all continuous generating grinding machines currently on the market, e.g. Reishauer, Gleason-Hurth, Samputensili, Liebherr, Kapp, Csepel, ... .



2. Flute Grinding

This type of grinding is used for the manufacture of twist drills, taps, circular saw blades, etc.

Flute grinding involves the use of deep grinding and swing grinding techniques for grinding grooves and teeth into cylindrical blanks. This involves circumferential speeds of v=63 m/sec, v=80 m/sec and v=100 m/sec.

Flute grinding wheels are used everywhere in the world on Junker-, Gühring-, Normac-, Hertlein-, Gefra-, Spiboma-, Allessio-, machines etc..



3. Control-/Regulating wheels

Burka-Kosmos GmbH can provide you with rubber-bonded dressing wheels in a range of qualities to suit the application; this range includes, for example, different qualities for through-feed or plunge grinding.

Dressing wheels can be supplied for all normal centerless grinding machines such as Mikrosa, König und Bauer, Hermighausen, Hartex, Lidköping, Cincinnati, Schumag, Estarta and Malcus.


4. Roller grinding

Burka-Kosmos GmbH has the manufacturing know-how which gives it the skills to produce highly porous grinding wheels which are particularly suited for grinding rubber or plastic-coated rollers. The specification EKW 46/60-E12V771-530 is, for example, a standard for us.
